Hi, I'm Patricia. Yes, this is the part where I talk about myself.
Lawyer and founder of COSÍN LEGAL. I created this project because I wanted to practise law in a way I could recognise myself in: with legal rigour, but also with closeness, creativity, independence and commitment.
My professional practice has grown around seemingly different fields that, to me, have a lot in common.
- A person trying to build a life in another country.
- A worker trying to defend their rights.
- An artist trying to protect what they have created.
- A project that needs to know what it can do before taking the next step.
Behind all of them are important decisions with legal consequences. That's where I come in. I mainly work in immigration and nationality law, employment law and intellectual property, and I am developing a line of work focused on legal advice for artists, creators and cultural projects.
I don't expect you to arrive at my office knowing the law. That's what I'm here for. But whenever we have to make a decision, I do want you to understand what we are deciding and why.

I want you to understand your situation. I explain what is happening, what we can do and what each option implies before any decision is made.
A case file never exists apart from the person behind it. Listening and understanding the context is also part of doing my job well.
It's not about filing papers for the sake of it. First we need to know what we want to achieve, and then choose the most reasonable legal path.
Not every situation has a perfect solution. If an option has risks, I'll tell you. If I think something isn't worth it, I'll tell you that too.
COSÍN LEGAL works from respect for diversity, human rights and the different ways of living, working and creating. I don't want you to leave a consultation knowing only what I am going to do. I want you to understand what is happening to you.

Culture, diversity, human rights, community organising, animal welfare and collective projects are part of how I understand the world. I have worked with associations and with social and cultural projects, both through the law and outside it. They are not a list of values placed on a website. They are part of where I practise from.
The law is already complicated enough. Understanding your lawyer shouldn't be.
